COMMENTS From the back cover:
By his own admission he's " just an entertainer."
And that's perhaps the most understated thing ever said about
José Feliciano. To be the kind of entertainer he is jlust
means to fire an audience into an emotional unit, to build an
experience out of a performance and to mold that performance
into art.
Singer. Guitarist. Composer. Entertainer. Star. José
Feliciano is every one of these, yet he's more. It comes across
in his joyous live performances. It's there in soulful studio
sessions, on television appearances, wherever he appears. There's
something clearly special, excit;ng, unusual, and personal when
José Feliciano is on. And the magic is seemingly endless-not
only in his unique and captivating singing but also in his fantastic
guitar virtuosity.
From his Gold records FELICIANO! and ALIVE ALIVE-O!;
from his smash singles Life Is That Way and Wichita Lineman (which
have never before appeared in any of his albums); from his varied,
greatest and most popular hits, here is ENCORE!, a collection
of twelve of Feliciano's finest performances. Naturally, José's
classic Lighf My Fire is included in this special package as
is his awesome guitar rendition of Malaguena, the longing insistence
of his California Dreamin and the fragile plaintiveness of Rain,
a Feliciano original. They're all here in José Feliciano's
ENCORE!
