COMMENTS:

This album was released immediately after the greatly successful "Escenas de Amor", which proved a best seller in Latin America and in the same year as the splendid but poorly promoted "Romance in The Night". "Me Enamore" represents the point in Jose's' career where he turns his focus towards the Latin American market, a move which was to be rewarded by an outstanding sales success as well as many critics' awards, including a well-deserved Grammy (after 15 years!) for best Latin Album of the year.

"Me Enamore" is arguably the best Spanish album ever recorded by Jose' and one of the best records of his entire career: great songs and outstanding performances, splendid orchestral arrangements and, most of all, a good variety of different musical genres (something often lacking in Jose's latin albums).

It is difficult to highlight any particular songs, as the whole album is very good. My favorites are: "No Quiero Perder Tu Amor Tambien", "Ay Cariño", "Los Sonidos del Silencio" and "El Condor Pasa" (with a fantastic guitar performance). These last two songs are by Paul Simon.

This album is strongly recommended to all Jose' Feliciano fans, including those who would normally be not attracted by his latin output.

Fianlly this great Lp is released on CD in 2003, with the 1982 album "Escenas de Amor" and with a great Dvd with a live concert of these songs in Chile, in a unique package called "Ayer Hoy Y Siempre"
